WHAT IS FAITH ?

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". Hebrews 11:1 KJV

Definition ( dictiionary.com)(merriam webster)

Substance: physical material from which something is made

Evidence:something that makes plain or clear; an indication or sign

Therefore faith is the physical material of things hoped for; the plain clear indication of things not seen.

Having faith in something brings that thing into ones physical reality. Faith therefore making it real to you and others.Faith is sometimes viewed as something mysterious. But faith is actually something that we use on a daily basis. Faith is basically trusting in something that's not evident to the natural eyes.

Examples;

We sea a chair physically, but we sit naturally trusting that that same chair has the strength and durability to withstand the pressure that we inflict on it. We just believe that the chair will hold us. Our faith or belief system in our minds tells us to trust in something that is not natural evident. Thus when we act on something that we believe in, such as the chair. We than realize that we just activated our faith and put our faith to work..

James 2:20

"But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead ?" KJV

God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith

Romans 12:3 KJV

Faith goes beyond what we can perceive with our physical senses, so it does not work by the rules of science. Faith allows us to believe that the invisible God can do what is physically impossible. In that sense, faith is built and grows on a spiritual plane, not a physical or scientific one. But that doesn't mean observation, science and rational thinking aren't part of how we come to believe in our miraculous Creator God in the first place. In fact, there is no contradiction or conflict between Godly faith and true science. After all, since God is the Creator of everything, science is the study of God's creation.

Where does Faith come from ?

Glad you asked...

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 KJV

We must hear the word of God, Listen to the word of God.

Back to that chair we keep discussing. Someone tells us to go have a seat. We listen and here whats being said to us and thats how the process of belief in something starts.

So in the natural we feed ourselves, the same in the spiritual. We must continue to feed ourselves the WORD OF GOD. The more we hear it the more we activate our faith. The faith that was given to us as a gift. That same faith that God has dealt to every man.
